The former talk-show icon, seen here jogging on a Caribbean island in a Ball State (his alma mater) T-shirt, is unrecognizable compared to his salad days as the dapper host of “The Late Show,” and even more disheveled than he looked last September, when he sported a wreath-like white beard months after retiring from CBS. Letterman was never one for the limelight outside of work, but seen here, bald and without his trademark specs, he’s gone completely Grizzly Adams — or maybe he’s the nouveau Burl Ives. If he trotted past you in this getup, you would never say, “Hey, there goes Dave!” Which is probably the way he likes it.
